Team "Blue" Racing win RCYC Stewards Cup

On a bright and very breezy Friday evening Team "Blue" Racing beat the IRC Fleet home by over four minutes winning overall on corrected time to take the Stewards Cup. Over an awkward course in SE force five conditions the only real threat came from the Beneteau 36.7 who was close at the Old Wall turning mark. After a problematic spinnaker hoist the boat took off in surfing conditions notching up speeds of 18 knots. John Wilson driving the boat through the waves directly at Pendennis point before a quick drop, followed by a reach into Governor and then a bear away set taking us up the harbour. It took several gybes before crossing the line with no else in sight. Great racing! Great teamwork!

Team "Blue" Racing enjoy a great Savilles Regatta in breezy conditions

Team "Blue" Racing took the Trophy for line honours at the annual Savilles Regatta held in association with Mylor Yacht Club. Despite finishing 3 minutes and 50 seconds ahead of the Projection Big Purple, Blue was placed second losing out by only 10 seconds on corrected time. A good course was set in a stiff SW wind seeing most yachts reefed down a slab. Not a an option on the Melges!!

Thanks to Savilles for organising another great event and especcially to MYC for hosting the event for the first time.
